success.
The MIT Sloan Club of Northern California provides the foundation to continue the pursuit and expansion of our goals in the greater world by creating events, activities and opportunities that improve our lives and helps us create and deepen friendships with fellow Sloanies.
To enable that vision, we are a club of highly connected Sloanies who have fun getting together to help and support one another:
Our success is measured by our members’ roles in the greater community, their accomplishments, and consistent events that showcase what we stand for.
While the number of Sloanies in the Bay Area was relatively small, Sloan Club is running strong, under the guidance of Riya Suising, Monica Lee and others.
Popular events included speaker events, like Financing and Emerging Enterprise and co-sponsored events like WildCard Wednesday and Brie, Bordeax and Brains.
We held numerous events and activities including holiday dinners, the summer bash and a wide variety of lectures and panels.
Following a tsunami of CXO roles, venture fundings, VPships and kids, the club went quiet.
With now over 2000 MIT Sloan alums in the bay area, we recognized that we’re missing opportunities to connect, learn from each other and grow together.
We created task force to plan out the relaunch of the club with the goal of building a sustainable club.
Hey, we’re MBA’s. Planning rocks!
A few hundred club members get together to talk through what we want and needed in our lives that could be uniquely fulfilled by getting together with fellow Sloanies.
These conversations result in a needs-based programming model, where our purpose and events are centered on making connections related to our interests and improving one another’s lives.
We relaunch at the Annual Summer Gathering.
Of 2000 local alums, about 300 join immediately and tell us their interests.
The Entrepreneurship and the IOT interest groups kick off our first interest group events.
The leadership team puts the club’s operations in gear.
We’re blasting into the new year with new events and groups:
Expect many new events and interest groups all year long.
